What are the operating methods of power frequency spark tester


Power frequency spark tester generally adopts solid-state ac voltage regulation and single-chip microprocessor control technology, which has the characteristics of stable output high voltage (not affected by the change of power grid voltage), high detection sensitivity, no error in breakdown count, strong anti-interference, obvious breakdown point, etc., and can automatically count when breakdown, and generate alarm.


The operating method of power frequency spark tester has the following steps:


1.The preparatory work

(1) turn the high pressure button counterclockwise to zero.

(2) when the working mode is "extruding", set the breakdown selection button at the "non-stopping" position. When the power is  the "on" position, the power indicator light is on, indicating high voltage output. Press the self-check button, the alarm light will be on, the electric bell will ring, and the high voltage indicator will continue to output high voltage

When  the working mode is  "rewinding", set the breakdown selection button at the position of "stop". 

(3) mode of operation: power on the "on" position, the power indicator is on, press "high voltage start" button, the high voltage indicator is on, indicating high voltage output, press "self-check" button, the alarm light is on, the bell rings, the high voltage indicator is off, and the high voltage output is interrupted. 

(4) open the cover of the spark tester and press the "high voltage start" button. If the high voltage indicator is not on, no high voltage output means the self-locking switch is working normally. 

(5) if the above test functions are normal, disconnect the power switch and prepare for normal operation.


2.Operating procedures


(1)Open the cover of the spark tester and close the cover after the test wire goes through the spark box.

(2) when the working mode is "extruding", set breakdown choice about "non-stop" position, set power "on" position,  the power indicator is on, press the "high pressure start" button, the high voltage indicator is on, clockwise " high pressure adjusting knob "and, make the test voltage to specified value, namely into the test state.If the wires of the subject break down, sound and light alarm, operation should be marked at the breakdown point, continuous testing state. 

(3) when the working mode is "rewinding", set the breakdown selection key at the "stop" position, set the power on about the "on" position, and the power indicator light is on. Press the "high-voltage starting" button, and the high-voltage indicator light is on.If the wires are broken down, sound and light alarm, high-voltage output is interrupted, and the equipment automatically stops.After the operator marks and processes the breakdown point, restart the equipment and spark tester and continue the test. 

(4) when the end of the test wire is near the spark tester, cut off the power of the spark tester and open the cover of the spark tester.


3. Precautions

(1) performance inspection must be done before use the spark tester.

(2) before using the spark test machine, it is necessary to carefully check whether the spark test machine, the tested wire and conductive wire core are reliably grounded. 

(3) the electrode box should be kept clean and dry during use. 

(4) when the tested wire joint passes through the spark tester, the cover of the spark tester should be opened and the joint should be as smooth as possible to prevent the damage of the spark tester.
